The Sultans of the Net lose a match they led 2-0: We drop to 2nd place in world rankings
The A National Women's Volleyball Team faced the People's Republic of China in their third match of the 4th week of the Nations League. In a match that went to a tie-break set, China came from behind to win 3-2. With this result, Turkey lost its title as the world number 1 and fell to 2nd place. Brazil has risen to 1st in the world rankings.
Our National Women's Volleyball Team won the first set 25-20 in a tightly contested match against the host China in the third match of the 2024 Women's VNL Hong Kong Leg. The Sultans also won the second set 25-17, bringing the score to 2-0.
THINGS CHANGED IN THE THIRD SET
Unable to reflect their superior play from the first 2 sets into the third, the Sultans of the Net lost the set 25-21. The Sultans of the Net lost the fourth set 23-25, bringing the set score to 2-2. The tie-break set determined the outcome of the match.
The Sultans of the Net took the lead in the tie-break set, but China later came from behind to equalize. As the final points approached, China won the tie-break set and the match with consecutive points.
