The Sultans of the Net's quarter-final matchup has been determined
The A National Women's Volleyball Team finished the 2026 FIVB Nations League regular season in 4th place, securing their spot in the finals. The Sultans of the Net will face Canada, coached by Giovanni Guidetti, in the quarter-finals.
Following the conclusion of the 2026 FIVB Nations League (VNL) regular season, the opponent for the A National Women's Volleyball Team in the final stage has been confirmed.
Turkey, which finished the regular season in 4th place with 9 wins and 25 points, has been paired in the quarter-finals with Canada, which took 5th place with 8 wins and 24 points.
SANTARELLI AND GUIDETTI ARE RIVALS THIS TIME
The A National Women's Volleyball Team, under the leadership of head coach Daniele Santarelli, will compete in the quarter-finals against Canada, coached by former national team head coach Giovanni Guidetti. Guidetti coached Turkey between 2017 and 2022.
THE PATH TO THE SEMI-FINALS GOES THROUGH THE USA OR CHINA
If Turkey eliminates Canada in the quarter-final match to be played in the Macau Special Administrative Region of China on July 22-23, they will face the winner of the USA-China matchup in the semi-finals.
The other quarter-final pairings in the final stage are USA-China, Italy-Netherlands, and Brazil-Japan. China, which finished the regular season outside the top 8, earned the right to participate in the finals thanks to the host country quota.
BULGARIA BIDS FAREWELL TO THE VNL
Bulgaria, which finished the regular season in last place, became the team relegated from the VNL. In the 2027 VNL, the national team that is highest in the FIVB world rankings among countries not participating in this season's organization will compete in place of Bulgaria.
