Thomas Reis clarifies Wolfsburg rumors

Samsunspor manager Thomas Reis, whose team drew 1-1 with Beşiktaş in the 13th week of the Süper Lig, made important statements at the post-match press conference.

Stating that they had a tough battle against Beşiktaş, Reis said, "It made me happy to see the Beşiktaş manager on the bench. The match was difficult, and both teams showed a good reaction. We couldn't capitalize on our chances in the first half, and the penalty situation in the second half was controversial. However, we didn't give up and created opportunities. If one team deserved to win, it was us, but we are happy to have taken 1 point."

RESPONSE TO WOLFSBURG CLAIMS

Addressing the rumors that he would be transferring to Wolfsburg, Reis said, "The speculations about me are not my fault. My focus is on Samsunspor. I am working as a manager in Europe for the first time, and that might be attracting attention. However, I have a contract, and we will have discussions about staying in Samsun."

Evaluating his team's performance, Reis said, "We need time to compete for the championship in the league. There is a difference when compared to the budgets of other teams. Our president is doing everything he can. We are in a good position, but we have a thin squad and injured players. We have a difficult match in 3 days; it would be good if we win. I am happy to be a part of this team."

Reis stated that playing against big teams is enjoyable, adding, "We are extra motivated when we play against teams like Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, and Beşiktaş. We finished the league in 3rd place last season and are in a good position right now. Even though we got a draw, we are not losing, and I hope it continues this way."
