Two stars at a crossroads at Galatasaray following foreign player rule change
In line with the 10+4 foreign player rule implemented by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), Galatasaray is preparing to undergo a squad renewal.
Galatasaray, having won four consecutive championships in the Süper Lig, is preparing for the new season with the goal of finishing at the top for a fifth time. While transfer efforts continue without slowing down, some changes to the squad have become inevitable within the yellow-red community.
''FOREIGN PLAYER RULE HITS TWO STARS''
In line with the 10+4 foreign player rule implemented by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), Galatasaray is preparing to undergo a squad renewal. Within this framework, the names of two players with whom the club plans to part ways have come to the forefront.
According to reports behind the scenes, although a 1+1 year deal was initially considered for Mario Lemina, whose contract is set to expire, the club is now considering parting ways with the Gabonese midfielder due to the new foreign player restriction. Lemina's recent social media post featuring a photo of a plane, accompanied by a Turkish flag emoji and the words "Goodbye," has further fueled rumors of his departure.
Another departure rumor has emerged regarding Mauro Icardi. It is stated that if the final offer presented by the club during contract negotiations with the Argentine striker is not accepted, the Galatasaray management does not intend to submit a new offer, and therefore, Icardi's departure from the team could be a natural development.
