UEFA decision on Beşiktaş, Trabzonspor, and Başakşehir: Squad restrictions and fines imposed

In an official statement released by UEFA, it was announced that no penalties were imposed on Beşiktaş, Trabzonspor, Milan (Italy), Inter (Italy), Monaco (France), Olympique de Marseille (France), Paris Saint-Germain (France), and Antwerp (Belgium)—all of which are under financial review—as they met their interim financial targets for the 2023 financial year.

SQUAD RESTRICTION AND FINE FOR BAŞAKŞEHİR

It was announced that the Turkish representative Başakşehir, which will compete in the UEFA Conference League, partially exceeded its projected final financial target. Accordingly, Başakşehir has been handed a conditional ban from the next UEFA club competition for which they would otherwise qualify in the next three seasons should they fail to comply with the football earnings rule in the 2024-2025 season. Additionally, the club is restricted to registering only 23 players for the 2024-2025 season, faces limitations on registering newly transferred players to the A-list for the 2024-25 season, and has been fined 100,000 Euros.

Furthermore, Aston Villa (England) was fined 60,000 Euros and Olympique de Marseille (France) was fined 20,000 Euros for the late submission of financial information. Roma (Italy) was fined 2 million Euros for partially exceeding its interim target for the 2023 financial year.
