100th anniversary video message from Fatih Terim: 'We must protect it more every passing day'
Manager Fatih Terim shared a video on his social media account to mark the 100th anniversary of the Republic. In the video, Terim stated, "It is the greatest legacy left to us by our ancestors."
Manager Fatih Terim, one of the legends of the National Team and Galatasaray, shared a video message celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Republic with the words, ''The Republic is the greatest legacy left to us by our ancestors under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.''
Here are the statements from Fatih Terim's post;
"Today is the 100th anniversary of our Republic. It is the greatest legacy left to us by our ancestors under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. And we must protect this legacy by embracing it more tightly every passing day. It is the greatest duty of us all to carry the Republic to future generations without forgetting that it was won for our nation through the great sacrifices of thousands of our veterans and martyrs. My expectation and wish for the new century is for a Turkey that believes in democracy and equality, at the level of contemporary civilization, fully independent, and upholding the principles of the Republic, just as it has been for the past century. While we plan our future with the concepts of democracy, full independent justice, gender equality, reason, science, art, civilization, and enlightenment that the Republic brought into our lives, it still sheds light on us even from a century ago."
