BREAKING NEWS... Chaos erupts at Fenerbahçe Supreme Council meeting: Tensions soar in the hall, broadcast cut!

During the Fenerbahçe Supreme Council meeting, the club's statements regarding signatures and the ensuing disputes caused chaos. As tense moments unfolded during the live broadcast, Fenerbahçe Television abruptly cut the feed. The meeting was dominated by developments related to signatures and members' complaints.

Fenerbahçe Club announced the number of signatures collected for the extraordinary congress. The club stated that it had received a total of 9,954 signature declarations, of which 8,468 were deemed valid.

However, it was noted that while the club's statutes require 9,646 signatures, the legal threshold stands at 11,023. Following the invalidation of certain signatures, some members came forward to complain, stating that they had not signed, had not visited a notary, and that their signatures had been forged.

FENERBAHÇE FILES CRIMINAL COMPLAINT

Fenerbahçe filed a criminal complaint regarding the invalidated signatures. While club management treated the matter seriously, executive Alper Alpoğlu read out messages from members to inform the hall of the situation. These statements heightened tensions at the meeting and the atmosphere in the hall grew strained.

TENSIONS SOAR IN THE HALL, BROADCAST CUT

The incidents at the Fenerbahçe Supreme Council meeting did not subside despite the efforts of Council Chairman Şekip Mosturoğlu. As the atmosphere failed to calm despite Mosturoğlu's repeated appeals, the meeting was suspended. Subsequently, Fenerbahçe Television was forced to cut the broadcast following the escalating tension.

Aziz Yıldırım, the former chairman of the yellow-and-navy club, called on the reacting council members to remain calm. The meeting resumed from where it left off after the break.

Fenerbahçe Supreme Council Chairman Şekip Mosturoğlu removed former Fenerbahçe footballer Müjdat Yetkiner and several general assembly members who had been involved in the disputes from the hall.

After tensions subsided, Fenerbahçe Chairman Ali Koç delivered his speech. Following Ali Koç, former chairman Aziz Yıldırım took the podium.

Yıldırım hit back hard at claims that he had left behind a debt of 612 million euros during his tenure. Yıldırım said: "They say Aziz Yıldırım left a debt of 612 million euros. If I did that, I am dishonourable — and so are those who say it!"

"Holding an election in September is wrong. When you came to meet with me in May, I told you: 'Talk to the other presidential candidates, tell them: let me stay here one more year; if I can't make us champions, I'll leave.' I also said: get a vote of confidence from the community. You said 'Let's talk later' and never came back. After that, I made a statement saying 'I will run as a candidate.'

An election held in September will harm this community. You are the ones making the transfers and everything else — the responsibility must be yours. Reconsider it, I say this as a strong piece of advice."

While Aziz Yıldırım was making statements on financial matters, Fenerbahçe executive Hamdi Akın said, "You are speaking incorrectly."

'DON'T MAKE ME TURN ON YOU!'

Aziz Yıldırım responded: "Hamdi, look — don't make me turn on you! That's not why I came here! Don't make me turn on you!"

Yıldırım continued his speech as follows:

"In a club as great as Fenerbahçe, there is no such thing as opposition — everyone is waiting for me to speak, and only one or two people speak up when I do.

Children are no longer becoming Fenerbahçe fans. That is our biggest problem.

I am the chairman who beat Galatasaray 6-0. Fenerbahçe supporters are in tears. That is what I see — I can't speak for you.

What do you want from me, brother! Should I die? Should I go to my grave? Leave me alone, for God's sake! They talk about vision... You dismissed us by saying Aziz Yıldırım has no vision... Aziz Yıldırım was going to build you an island. He was going to build an island on 6 acres of rock in Maltepe.

Ali Bey, I gave my life — my life! I went to prison, I served time, I gave my life! Everything I did, I did for Fenerbahçe. My friends and I are a part of this club — we are this club! Know that!

Providing information on sponsorships, Ali Koç said they had signed two very important sponsorship agreements: "We signed a major deal with Adidas. We received the first instalment. It was said that we would cash in all the money at once. That is not correct. In line with the continuity of the agreement, the administrations after us will also benefit from it. We signed another deal for the stadium naming rights. We signed an agreement with Chobani, a globally renowned brand. The founder and owner of the brand, Hamdi Ulukaya, is a distinguished name raised by our country. I hope this agreement will be auspicious and fortunate for our community. We also extend our sincere thanks to the Ülker group, which provided our previous sponsorship."

'WE ARE FOCUSED ON YOUNG PROFILES'

Emphasising that financial strength is the biggest factor in sporting success, the Fenerbahçe Chairman said: "Since the day we took office, we have continued our work towards the club's financial independence. It is disheartening that our broadcasting revenues — our most important source of income — dropped to one-third during this period, and that the fact that a large portion of our revenues was taken by banks is being downplayed while our achievements are being diminished. The idea of withholding financial discharge simply because football results were not what was desired is madness. Unfortunately, the new season's market conditions are at levels we have never seen before. Transfer negotiations are opening in the 20–25 million band. We trust our coach's football intelligence. We also condemn the violence our coach has been subjected to in the public sphere. We hope that this season we will watch a very different team. We are putting forward a football philosophy. We are focused on young profiles who aim to win. The transfers made are not coincidental — they are a testament to success. We went to Portugal for a training camp and were criticised heavily. No club chairman in Turkish football history has faced the attacks that I have faced. We will continue our fight whether we are in office or not."

'ANSWER TO THOSE WHO SIGNED WITH SINCERE INTENTIONS'

Regarding the signature campaign process, Ali Koç said the following:

"We respect all our members who signed. We see their demands. They all have a place of honour with us. I have had no involvement in this matter so as not to harm the process. The number of valid signatures is not sufficient. Independent of this process, we saw the demand and made the decision to hold an election — but unfortunately we all saw that the process did not unfold as described. We are obliged to protect the dignity of this club. We will not let go of the falsehoods within this club. Why did you want to drag our 118-year-old club into such a situation? Why did you put Fenerbahçe's name alongside forgery? If your intention was an early election, why did you wait this long? Those who managed this process must answer to our members who signed with sincere intentions. Now is the time to look forward, not backward. We are ready. Those who tried to bring us down have only brought us closer together. We are not just a sports club — we are a family. There are many examples in our history showing that when we walk together, this community cannot be stopped. We are here, ready to take on every responsibility."

SARAN SPOKE AFTER THE COUNCIL MEETING

At the Fenerbahçe Supreme Council meeting, presidential candidate Sadettin Saran had been expected to speak. However, Saran decided not to take the podium and did not deliver any speech during the meeting.

Making a brief statement to the press as he left the meeting, Saran sent a message to Fenerbahçe supporters. Saran said: "Tomorrow's success lies in transformation and change. We represent that transformation, that change. Supporters can rest easy. We love them."
