Volkan Demirel becomes an honorary citizen of Hatay!

Hatay Metropolitan Municipality has awarded an honorary citizenship certificate to Hatayspor manager Volkan Demirel.

In a statement released by the Metropolitan Municipality, it was noted that the decision to grant the honorary citizenship title to Demirel, who issued calls for aid and did not leave the people of Hatay alone during the earthquakes on February 6, 2023, was made during the council meeting.

It was reported that Metropolitan Mayor Lütfü Savaş presented the honorary citizenship certificate to Volkan Demirel during a ceremony held.

In the statement, Savaş, whose speech at the ceremony was included, thanked Demirel for standing by them following the earthquakes.

Volkan Demirel also expressed his gratitude for the honorary citizenship certificate bestowed upon him, stating, "I hope I will act in a manner worthy of our fellow citizens and Hatay. From now on, we will continue to try to make the people of Hatay happy and be their voice. We aim to finish this season successfully as well."
