Vote on VAR: It could be scrapped!

Premier League teams will vote next month on whether or not to continue using VAR next season.

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system, once considered a revolutionary application in football, has come to an end in Sweden.

Following Sweden, the VAR system may also be absent from the English Premier League, widely considered the best league in the world, starting next season.

According to a report by The Athletic, Premier League clubs will meet to decide whether the VAR system should continue next season. The future of the VAR application will be determined based on the votes cast by the clubs.

Although the Premier League management wants VAR to continue, not all clubs share the same opinion. Wolverhampton Wanderers believes that VAR damages the relationship between football, fans, and teams.

Due to the fact that errors have persisted despite the presence of VAR and concerns that decisions are becoming less objective, clubs appear to be leaning closer toward scrapping the system.
