World Cup ticket prices exceed a million dollars: Even the lowest fee is jaw-dropping...
World Cup ticket prices on FIFA's official resale platform have spiraled out of control. While some seats for the final have exceeded 2 million dollars, the floor price for standard tickets has reached the 11 thousand dollar level.
World Cup ticket prices have risen to remarkable levels on FIFA Marketplace, the official platform where FIFA allows resales.
PRICES EXCEED A MILLION DOLLARS
According to a report on CNN, the price of some tickets offered for sale on the platform ahead of the tournament to be hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada has surpassed 2 million dollars. One of the highest prices was listed at 2 million 300 thousand dollars for a seat located in the upper sections of the stadium.
LARGE DIFFERENCE IN THE SAME STAND
Category 1 seats for the final match are located in the upper rows of the lower stand, near the position behind the goal. While seats just two rows in front of these are finding buyers in the secondary market at the 16 thousand dollar level, the price of some seats closer to the pitch exceeds 24 thousand dollars.
NO INTERVENTION IN PRICES
Sellers on the platform can set prices freely. FIFA does not directly intervene in these prices. However, a 15 percent commission is charged to both the buyer and the seller on completed sales.
THE LOWEST PRICE IS ALSO HIGH
The lowest price for standard tickets offered on the secondary market for the final match is just under 11 thousand dollars. For tickets suitable for wheelchair access, the starting price is at the level of approximately 15 thousand dollars.
