PLOT

In the series, Ahmet Kural tells the story of Baki, a gassal—someone who washes the dead—in a small town. Baki is a person who keeps to himself, lives alone, and has no relatives... He enjoys his solitude.

He has an assistant named Nadir who is afraid of the dead. Because of this, the entire job falls on him.

One day, three young people play a prank on Baki in the cemetery by pretending to stab him. Nothing happens to Baki. However, Baki is so terrified that he thinks he has come face to face with death and begins to question the loneliness he is living in.

His close friend Ahmet thinks that Baki should not be so lonely. Ahmet and his wife Neslihan find a girl for Baki. Once Baki agrees to the idea, the trio goes to ask for the girl's hand in marriage. The result does not end as they had hoped at all. That is how the first episode of Gassal ends.
