A foreign-flagged luxury yacht moored at the rear section of the Sinop Pier began taking on water for a reason yet to be determined. The yacht, which listed to one side in a short time, drew the attention of citizens in the vicinity.

Upon notification of the situation, relevant teams were dispatched to the area. The 6 crew members who were on board the yacht during the incident were safely evacuated and brought to shore through the coordination of the teams.

While it was learned that the health status of the crew is good, efforts have been initiated in the port area to recover the yacht, which is stated to be worth approximately 2 billion lira.

Authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the yacht taking on water.
