384 people were detained during May 1st events in Istanbul. The Istanbul Governor's Office announced that the processing of the detained individuals at the police station is ongoing.

384 people were detained during May 1st celebrations in Istanbul. In a statement issued by the Istanbul Governor's Office, it was noted that the processing of the detained individuals at the police station is continuing. The statement also shared the information that 52,656 police officers were on duty across the city as part of May 1st security measures.

The statement issued by the Governor's Office included the following remarks: 'May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day was celebrated with events held in Istanbul. 35,000 people attended the celebrations organized by the Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions of Turkey (DİSK) and its components at Kadıköy Rıhtım Square. 30,000 people attended the celebrations organized by the Confederation of Turkish Trade Unions (TÜRK-İŞ) and its components at Kartal Square. No negative incidents occurred during the authorized celebrations, and participants dispersed without any issues.

A total of 52,656 of our security personnel were on duty on May 1st to implement the measures taken for the peace and security of Istanbul. Groups wishing to hold illegal actions and demonstrations outside the celebration areas permitted by our Governor's Office across the city were not allowed to do so. In this context, 384 of the individuals who gathered to hold unauthorized demonstrations were detained. The police processing of these individuals is ongoing.'
