The incident occurred in the evening hours in the Karanlıkdere area of Karadağ, located near the village of Madenşehri in the city center. According to the information obtained, a gendarmerie team patrolling the area, which is a protected archaeological site, noticed people inside a cistern. Upon checking the cistern, the team determined that individuals identified as İ.K., E.E., and N.Ş. had become trapped after their rope snapped while they were inside searching for treasure.
"RESCUED IN 4 HOURS"
AFAD and the National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE) were dispatched to the scene to rescue the individuals from the cistern, while a 112 Emergency Health team was also directed to the area as a precaution. As a result of a coordinated effort lasting approximately 4 hours, the 3 people were pulled from the cistern with the help of ropes.

It was learned that the individuals, who were checked in the ambulance waiting on standby, were in good health. They were later taken to the Provincial Gendarmerie Command to have their statements taken.
Meanwhile, the rescue efforts were also monitored by Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Senior Colonel Osman Saygılı and AFAD Karaman Provincial Director Cengiz Çavuş.
