Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ercan continues to issue warnings regarding Turkey's earthquake risk. In a post on his social media account, Ercan drew attention to geothermal areas, stating, "Every earthquake is a new energy, a geothermal birth."
Pointing to a magnitude 7 earthquake, the earthquake expert cited Afyon, Germencik, Nazilli, Aydın, Denizli, Buharkent, Salihli, Bursa, Balıkesir, Simav, Dikili, Gümüldür, Erzincan, Erzurum, Ladik, and Bolu as examples.
Ercan noted the following in his post:
Geothermal areas are M7 magnitude; every mineral water source is a place where an earthquake occurred long ago. Afyon, Germencik, Nazilli, Aydın, Denizli, Buharkent, Salihli, Bursa, Balıkesir, Simav, Dikili, Gümüldür, Erzincan, Erzurum, Ladik, and Bolu are examples. Every earthquake is a new energy, a geothermal birth.
