Alarming picture in femicides: 22 women murdered in January!

The We Will Stop Femicide Platform has released its January 2026 Data Report. According to the report, 22 femicides were committed in January, and the deaths of 14 women were recorded as suspicious.
The report emphasized that the motive for the murder of 20 of the women could not be determined. This situation once again revealed that "excuses" and motives are not recorded in most cases of femicide.
According to the data, 23 percent of the women murdered in January were killed by the men they were married to. It was noted that the majority of the murders took place in the women's living spaces.
According to the information in the report, 73 percent of the murdered women were killed in their own homes. When the methods used in the murders were examined, it was stated that firearms were used in 50 percent of them.
