Armed attack at a taxi stand in Ankara

The incident took place in the Pursaklar district of Ankara.

R.Y., who allegedly threatened the head of the taxi stand and demanded protection money and a share of the business, arrived in front of the stand with a pump-action shotgun and opened fire indiscriminately.

Following the shooting, R.Y. assaulted one of the drivers waiting in front of the stand and fled. The taxi driver, who fell to the ground, sustained minor injuries, and the moments were captured on the stand's security camera.

Upon receiving a complaint, law enforcement launched an investigation to apprehend the suspect. Acting on the possibility that R.Y. might be at the home of his friend A.T.Y. in the Çubuk district, the address was monitored.

ARRESTED ON CHARGES OF 'ATTEMPTED INTENTIONAL HOMICIDE'

Pursaklar Police Department teams located the suspect at the aforementioned house on May 3. R.Y. was apprehended and taken into custody during a raid on the house. The suspect, who is reported to have a lengthy criminal record, was arrested on charges of 'Attempted intentional homicide,' 'Intentional injury,' and 'Property damage' after the completion of judicial proceedings.
