Ban on motorcycle couriers and heavy vehicles in Istanbul
As snowfall intensifies in Istanbul and traffic congestion exceeds 81 percent, the Istanbul Governor's Office has imposed a traffic ban for motorcycle couriers and heavy-tonnage vehicles effective from 10:00 AM.
Snowfall, which has been continuing since the morning hours in Istanbul, has made transportation difficult across the city.
TRAFFIC CONGESTION INCREASED
Long queues of vehicles formed on main arteries, and the congestion rate rose above 81 percent in a short time. Drivers experienced difficulty moving forward.
NEW MEASURE DECISION
The Istanbul Governor's Office has implemented additional measures to prevent adverse weather conditions from causing accidents and disruptions.
BAN ON MOTORCYCLE COURIERS AND HEAVY VEHICLES
In a statement made by the Governor's Office, it was announced that, in order to ensure traffic safety, motorcycle couriers and heavy vehicles are temporarily prohibited from entering traffic across the city as of 10:00 AM.
