Body of woman missing for 13 days found by creek in Diyarbakır

The lifeless body of a woman with schizophrenia, who had been missing for 13 days in the Çınar district of Diyarbakır, has been recovered.

Nimet Kılıç had left her home in the Kubacık neighborhood of Çınar district at 05:12 on January 21, and no news had been heard from her since that date.

Following 13 days of search efforts involving a total of 300 personnel from AFAD, the Gendarmerie Command, the Gendarmerie Underwater Search and Rescue (SAK), the Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK), the Dicle University Search and Rescue (DÜAK), and various other institutions, the missing woman's body was found by a creek.

Gendarmerie teams have taken extensive security measures in the area. The exact cause of Nimet Kılıç's death will be determined following an autopsy.

Nimet Kılıç had left her home at 05:12 on January 21. Her husband, Şeyhmus Kılıç, noticed she was not in bed and reported the situation first to their neighbors and then to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon receiving the report, teams arrived in the area and launched a search operation to locate the woman.
