Bosphorus closed to transit, ferry services cancelled
The fog, which has intensified in Istanbul, has brought ship traffic in the Bosphorus to a standstill in both directions. Due to adverse weather conditions, some ferry services will also be unable to operate.
Dense fog, which has been effective in the northern regions of Istanbul since the morning hours, has negatively affected maritime transportation. The General Directorate of Coastal Safety, affiliated with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, announced in a statement that the Bosphorus was closed to maritime traffic in both directions as of 04:53.
In the information provided by Şehir Hatları, it was noted that due to unfavorable weather conditions, ferry services on the Anadolu Kavağı-Rumeli Kavağı-Sarıyer, Sarıyer-Beykoz, Anadolu Kavağı-Üsküdar, Rumeli Kavağı-Eminönü (07:20), and Sarıyer-Eminönü (07:05) lines have been temporarily cancelled until further notice.
