Carbon monoxide poisoning at an engagement ceremony in Malatya: 113 people hospitalized

During an engagement ceremony held at around 21:00 at a wedding hall in the Orduzu neighborhood of Malatya's Battalgazi district, health teams were notified after guests began to feel unwell. Following the report, a large number of ambulances and medical personnel were dispatched to the area.

Initial checks determined that the individuals in the hall were affected by carbon monoxide gas. 46 people showing symptoms of poisoning were taken by ambulance to various hospitals in the city for treatment.

Malatya Governor Seddar Yavuz stated on his social media account, "113 of our citizens have been taken under treatment by our health institutions as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning at a wedding hall in our Battalgazi district. It has been determined that their general condition is good, and as of this hour, some of our patients have begun to be discharged. An investigation has been launched into the cause of the incident and those who may have negligence or fault. I convey my best wishes to our fellow citizens and wish them a speedy recovery."

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
