Child subjected to abuse in Kayseri taken into state protection

The Ministry of Family and Social Services issued a written statement regarding the allegation that a child was subjected to abuse in Kayseri.

The statement from the Ministry said, "As soon as the incident was reported to law enforcement units, our Provincial Directorate teams took immediate action."

The statement, which noted that "the victimized child, their siblings, and their mother have been taken into state protection following police procedures," added that "a psychosocial support process for the child and their family has been initiated by our expert teams."

The Ministry's statement further declared, "As the Ministry, we will intervene in the legal process and closely follow the case to ensure the perpetrator receives the harshest possible sentence."

KAYSERI GOVERNOR'S OFFICE HAD CONFIRMED THE INCIDENT

The Kayseri Governor's Office had previously issued a written statement regarding the abuse of a child.

The Governor's Office statement said, "Following the harassment of a young Syrian child by a Syrian national in the Danişmentgazi neighborhood, the individual was taken into custody by our security units, and our child has been placed under protection by our units."

The statement included the following remarks:

"The matter is being followed meticulously by us, and we respectfully urge our citizens to act with restraint and refrain from any actions other than those stated by official authorities."

WHAT HAPPENED?

In the Danişmentgazi neighborhood, a foreign national man was caught while abusing a 5-year-old child. While the suspect was taken into custody by Special Operations police and removed from the area, a large crowd overturned vehicles belonging to foreign nationals and set fire to businesses.
