Confessed to the scandal: 'Negative' drug test for 30 thousand liras

In an investigation launched in December 2025, allegations surfaced that positive drug tests at the Siirt Training and Research Hospital were being replaced with clean reports in exchange for financial gain. In this context, simultaneous operations were carried out in five provinces, with Siirt as the center.

While detention warrants were issued for a total of 40 people, it was stated that 8 of them were hospital employees. The suspects were charged with forgery of official documents, bribery, and concealing, altering, or destroying evidence of a crime.

According to a report by Birgün, one of the apprehended suspects, M.E.B., stated in their testimony in court that after their urine sample provided at the laboratory tested positive, a person named Ü.Ö. told them that they could change the result to negative. In their statement, M.E.B. explained that they sent a total of 30 thousand liras in two installments, after which the test result came back clean.

During the investigation process, 19 of the suspects referred to the courthouse were arrested, while it was reported that some others remain at large. M.E.B., however, was released under judicial control with a travel ban and a requirement to sign in twice a week after the request for their arrest was denied.
