Dismembered woman's body found in Beylikdüzü, Istanbul: 21-year-old who went for house cleaning murdered

A woman's body was found at a construction site near Yakuplu Marina in Beylikdüzü, Istanbul.

Local residents passing through the area in the morning hours encountered human remains on the road. Citizens reported the situation to the police.

According to a report by Ekol TV, it was learned that the body belonged to the 21-year-old young woman who had been missing for the last 20 days.

Teams entered the construction site located on the side of the road where the human remains were found.

Following the smell at the construction site, security forces conducted a search and discovered human remains on top of a puddle of water in the stairwell. Crime scene investigators and the prosecutor arrived at the scene.

IDENTIFICATION COMPLETED

The collected human remains were sent to the forensic medicine institution for identification. Through DNA analysis performed from fingerprints, it was determined that the parts belonged to the 21-year-old young woman who had been missing for 20 days.

1 PERSON IN CUSTODY

Following the identification, police units intensified their efforts and reached 1 suspect, taking them into custody.

CHILLING STATEMENT FROM THE SUSPECT

It was learned that the detained suspect worked as a security guard at a market near the construction site.

In his statement to the police, the suspect said that he clicked on a house cleaning advertisement on social media, called a woman from there, and that the woman who arrived was the 21-year-old young woman.

The suspect, who did not disclose what happened between him and the young woman, stated that he subsequently killed her, dismembered her, placed the parts in a box, brought them to his workplace, and after his shift, threw the dismembered parts of the body into the construction site.

Following the suspect's statement, the police investigation into the incident continues.
