Family wiped out in horrific accident in Denizli: 3 dead, 3 injured

The accident occurred around 16:30 in the Yenicekent neighborhood of Denizli's Buldan district.

According to the information obtained, the Volkswagen brand car with license plate 20 GD 004, driven by Ali Küçükuysal (37), who set off from the Denizli city center to attend a relative's wedding in the Kadıköy neighborhood of Buldan district, lost control for an as-yet-undetermined reason as it approached the Yenicekent junction on the Denizli-Manisa highway. The car crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with an Opel brand car with license plate 59 AHR 542, driven by T.T. (59), which was traveling from the direction of Manisa toward Denizli.

VEHICLE TURNED INTO A PILE OF METAL

Due to the impact, 3 people in the 20 GD 004 license plate car, which turned into a wreck, were thrown onto the road, while the 59 AHR 542 license plate vehicle that lost control flew into a field on the right side of the road. In the accident, driver Ali Küçükuysal, his wife Sultan Küçükuysal (33), and their 9-year-old son Celal Küçükuysal, as well as the driver of the other vehicle T.T. and passengers in the same vehicle, women identified as Ö.T. (78) and A.T. (59), were injured. The 6 people injured in the accident were transported to hospitals in Buldan and Sarayköy by ambulances after receiving initial intervention at the scene by medical teams.

MOTHER, FATHER, AND THEIR SON LOST THEIR LIVES

Among the injured, Celal Küçükuysal, who was in critical condition, lost his life at Buldan State Hospital where he was transferred; mother Sultan Küçükuysal died at Sarayköy State Hospital; and father Ali Küçükuysal died at Denizli State Hospital, where he was transferred after initial treatment in Buldan, despite all interventions. It was learned that the 3 injured individuals currently undergoing treatment are not in life-threatening condition.

Long queues of vehicles formed on the Denizli-Manisa highway due to the accident in which a family was wiped out while on their way to a relative's wedding. While police and gendarmerie teams took the necessary precautions to prevent further accidents, the highway was reopened to traffic after the vehicles were removed with the help of a tow truck. It was learned that Ali Küçükuysal, who was originally from the Dinar district of Afyonkarahisar and lived in the Denizli city center, had set off with his family to attend his wife's cousin's wedding. An investigation into the accident has been launched.
