Fight on Pegasus' Antalya-Astana flight: Plane makes emergency landing in Erzurum
A passenger plane flying from Antalya to Astana made an emergency landing at Erzurum Airport following a fight between passengers. The plane continued its journey after leaving behind four passengers of Ukrainian and Kazakh nationality involved in the altercation in Erzurum.
Tensions escalated among passengers on a Pegasus Airlines flight that took off from Antalya bound for Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. As the argument quickly turned into a physical fight, the pilot intervened and, exercising their authority, landed the plane at Erzurum Airport.
Following the emergency landing, which occurred around 02:00, a Ukrainian couple and two Kazakh women involved in the fight filed mutual complaints against each other. Upon notification of the incident, police and medical teams were dispatched to the airport.
The four individuals, who were taken into custody by the teams, were transported to Erzurum City Hospital and Atatürk University Research Hospital for medical examinations. The processing of the individuals, who were subsequently transferred to the Gürcükapı Martyr Abdulkadir Güngör Police Station, is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the plane that made the emergency landing in Erzurum due to the incident continued its journey after offloading the passengers involved in the fight.
