Turkey to swelter: Temperatures to exceed 40 degrees

The General Directorate of Meteorology has shared its weather forecast for June 24. While no precipitation is expected across Turkey, the sky will be largely clear and partly cloudy. Air temperatures are rising well above seasonal norms in many regions.

The wind is expected to blow from the north, light to occasionally moderate. Officials stated that there are currently no meteorological warnings in effect.

PTHE 40-DEGREE THRESHOLD WILL BE EXCEEDED AFTER THURSDAY

Starting from Thursday, air temperatures are expected to exceed 40 degrees in many provinces, particularly in the Mediterranean and Southeastern Anatolia regions. Experts warn that this increase could lead to health problems.

REGIONAL WEATHER FORECAST

Marmara Region: Istanbul will have a hot day with 31 degrees, Edirne 36, Kırklareli 33, and Balıkesir 35 degrees. Clear and sunny weather is expected across the region.

Aegean Region: Sunny weather prevails. İzmir and Muğla 36, Uşak 34, Afyonkarahisar 31 degrees.

Mediterranean Region: Temperatures are climbing. Adana 38, Antalya 37, with sunny weather also prevailing in Hatay and Isparta.

Central Anatolia Region: Ankara and Konya will experience a hot but not stifling day with 31 degrees, Eskişehir 33, and Sivas 27 degrees.

Black Sea Region: Western and central Black Sea will be clear, while the Eastern Black Sea will be partly cloudy. Trabzon will be 24, Samsun 26, and Rize 27 degrees.

Eastern Anatolia Region: A partly cloudy day is expected. Erzurum will be 25, Kars 23, Van 24, and Malatya 33 degrees.

Southeastern Anatolia Region: The weather is clear and hot. Diyarbakır will see 37, Gaziantep 36, Mardin 34, and Siirt 36 degrees.
