Unbelievable brawl between bride and groom's families at a wedding in Kocaeli! Knives were drawn, police entered the hall
In the Kartepe district of Kocaeli, an argument over "dancing" between the groom's and bride's families during a wedding turned into a brawl. In the fight, 2 people were injured with knives and 3 people were injured due to battery. While a large number of police teams were dispatched to the hall, 25 people were taken into custody.
A dispute broke out between the groom's and bride's families during a wedding at the Necip Fazıl Culture Center in the Fatih Sultan Mehmet neighborhood of Kocaeli's Kartepe district while traditional music was being played.
According to allegations, the parties exchanged words such as "You danced, now it's our turn" and "Are you going to be the only ones dancing?" As the music stopped, tensions rose significantly, and the verbal argument quickly turned into a brawl.
In the incident where the parties clashed, 2 people were stabbed and 3 people were injured by battery.
Upon notification, numerous police teams, including motorcycle units and riot police, as well as medical and UMKE teams, were dispatched to the scene. The fight between the parties was ended with the intervention of the teams.
The 2 people who were stabbed were taken to the hospital after initial intervention, while the 3 people who were beaten and refused to go to the hospital were treated in an ambulance.
25 people involved in the incident were detained. It was learned that the injured are not in life-threatening condition.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
