Gendarmerie specialist sergeant found dead in his home in Muğla

In an incident that occurred on 485 Street in the Yeniköy neighborhood of Muğla's Menteşe district, colleagues of A.Z.Y., a gendarmerie officer serving in the city, became concerned after being unable to reach him for a long time and went to his residence. When the door was not opened, the situation was reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Following the report, police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. Because the door could not be opened from the inside, support was requested from the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department. Fire crews entered the home from the balcony with the help of a ladder and discovered A.Z.Y. lying motionless.

Medical teams confirmed that the specialist sergeant had passed away. While crime scene investigation teams and the on-duty prosecutor were dispatched to the area, A.Z.Y.'s body was sent to the Muğla Yerkesik Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death following preliminary examinations. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
