Ahmet Cengiz, a farmer in the Kızıltepe district of Mardin who is also a student in the Art History Department at Mardin Artuklu University, did not leave his daughter, Semanur Cengiz, alone as she took the YKS exam.

The father and daughter experienced the exam excitement together in different classrooms on the same floor at the Mehmet Akif İnan Secondary School in the district.

Stating that he has been taking exams for nearly 30 years and has completed three university degrees, father Cengiz said, "This is my seventh university attempt. I am currently studying art history. My daughter was nervous, and I wanted to be by her side. It was a nice coincidence that we were assigned to the same school and floor. I even told her, 'I am right behind you.' I also call on all parents not to leave their children alone and to support them."

19-year-old Semanur Cengiz, who dreams of attending medical school, said, "It made me happy that my father was taking the exam in the classroom behind me. I thank him; it was a good feeling to know he was there with me."
