Footage of a father in Afyonkarahisar beating his 4 children with a belt while recording the act has caused outrage. The prosecutor's office immediately intervened following the sharing of the footage, and proceedings have been initiated to place the children under state protection.
In the İhsaniye district of Afyonkarahisar, a father caused public outrage with footage he recorded while beating his 4 children with a belt. Upon learning that his children had gone to the home of his brother-in-law and mother-in-law, with whom he was in a dispute, Murat M. beat his 4 children, one of whom is a boy, for minutes with a belt he held in his hand. During the moments of violence, the individual was recorded shouting, "Are you going to go to your grandmother's again?"
It was learned that Murat M., who recorded the violence he inflicted on his children with his mobile phone camera, sent these images to his brother-in-law. Family members who watched the footage were left in deep shock.
PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE LAUNCHES INVESTIGATION
Following the sharing of the recordings, family members delivered the video to their lawyer, Rahmi Emirhan Oğuz. Lawyer Oğuz went to the prosecutor's office with the footage and filed a criminal complaint.
Following the application, the prosecutor's office immediately initiated proceedings and requested that the children be placed under protection by the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services.
It was learned that the investigation launched into the incident is ongoing and that examinations regarding the condition of the children are continuing.
