Istanbul Governor's Office decision: Taksim Metro Station and F1 Line closed

In line with the decision taken by the Istanbul Governor's Office, the Taksim Station on the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line and the F1 Taksim-Kabataş Funicular Line are being closed to operations as of 10:00 today until further notice.

While it was stated that the decision was taken within the scope of "Pride Week," information regarding the implementation was shared via Metro İstanbul's social media accounts.

TAKSİM STATION TO BE CLOSED TO PASSENGER USE

According to the statement by Metro İstanbul, the Taksim Station on the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line will be closed to passenger entry and exit. Services will continue, but trains will proceed along their route without stopping at Taksim Station.

RESTRICTIONS TO BE APPLIED AT ŞİŞHANE STATION AS WELL

The statement also indicated that only the Kasımpaşa exit of the Şişhane Station on the M2 line will remain open, and all other entrances and exits will be closed to passenger use.

Metro İstanbul announced that the aforementioned practice will continue until a second announcement is made in accordance with the decision of the Istanbul Governor's Office.

The following statements were used in the announcement;

"In line with the decision taken by the Istanbul Governor's Office, as of 10:00 on Sunday, June 28, until further notice;

Our M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line's Taksim station and

?Our F1 Taksim-Kabataş Funicular line will be closed to operations.

?All entrances and exits of our M2 line's Şişhane station, except for the Kasımpaşa exit, will be closed to passenger use.

Our vehicles will continue their journey without stopping at the Taksim station."
