Massacre in Ankara: Released from prison on leave, he killed his mother, wife, and daughter!
In the Keçiören district of Ankara, a 35-year-old man shot and killed his mother and daughter, then went to the home of his wife, who was in the process of divorcing him, and shot her as well; the attacker then took his own life.
The tragic incident in Ankara took place in the Kuşcağız neighborhood of Keçiören. According to the information obtained, Recep Cengiz (35) first shot and killed his mother, Azize Cengiz (57), and his 8-year-old daughter, Azra Cengiz, for reasons that have not yet been clarified. After placing the lifeless bodies of his mother and daughter in the trunk of a light commercial vehicle with the license plate 35 ASA 769, Cengiz went to the address where his wife, Beyzanur Cengiz (25), whom he was in the process of divorcing, was living.
It is alleged that Cengiz arrived at the house disguised as a courier wearing a helmet and shot his wife to death. The attacker then committed suicide with the same weapon. Upon the notification of local residents who heard the gunshots, police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. The medical teams determined that all four individuals had lost their lives.
The bodies were taken to the Keçiören Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsies after the completion of the work at the scene. It was learned that the suspect had been released from prison on leave in December 2025.
A comprehensive investigation into the incident has been launched.
