A minibus carrying agricultural workers has plunged into a ravine in Mersin. It has been reported that 5 people lost their lives in the accident, and there are more than 10 injured.
A minibus carrying agricultural workers has overturned into a ravine in the Erdemli district of Mersin. According to initial reports, 5 people lost their lives in the accident, and 14 injured individuals were transported to hospitals.
The accident occurred in the morning hours on the road to Erdemli Güzeloluk Neighborhood, known as Avradı Plateau, near the Kargagediği location.
According to the information received, the minibus with license plate 33 VLP 55, driven by Cemal K., plunged into a ravine approximately 3 meters deep after the driver lost steering control while heading toward the district center. Upon notification by those who witnessed the accident, fire, medical, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene.
The injured trapped in the minibus were extracted and sent to hospitals by ambulances. Examinations at the scene revealed that 5 workers had died and 14 workers were injured. Rescue efforts are ongoing.
