Mother and her 3 children found dead in their home in Hatay
In the İskenderun district of Hatay, a mother and her 3 children were found dead in their home, while the unconscious father and 21 other people in the same apartment building were taken for treatment due to suspected poisoning.
Relatives of the Kökçü family, who live in İskenderun, Hatay, were unable to reach them and reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
Upon the report, gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the house.
Entering the second-floor apartment accompanied by the gendarmerie, medical teams determined that the mother, Kader (35), and her children, İsmail Ege (5), Elif Bilge (12), and Yiğit Efe Kökçü (14), who were lying motionless, had lost their lives.
The father, Emrah Kökçü (43), who was found unconscious, along with 21 people living in different apartments in the building, were taken to hospitals due to suspected poisoning.
İskenderun District Governor Muhammet Önder went to the İskenderun Emergency Hospital and received information from officials regarding those receiving treatment.
GOVERNOR'S OFFICE ISSUED A STATEMENT
In a written statement issued by the Hatay Governor's Office, it was reported that the family had been poisoned.
The statement noted the following:
"The exact cause of poisoning for our citizens will be determined as a result of the autopsy to be performed. We wish God's mercy upon our deceased citizens, offer our condolences to their relatives, and wish a speedy recovery to our injured citizens."
