Mother-in-law and daughter-in-law dispute in Şişli ends in murder!
In a dispute between a mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law in Şişli, 25-year-old Burçin Şahin was shot and killed; the mother-in-law has been taken into custody.
A dispute between a daughter-in-law and her mother-in-law living in the same house in Istanbul's Şişli district escalated into an armed attack. In the incident, 25-year-old Burçin Şahin lost her life, while the mother-in-law, Menekşe Karabacak, was taken into custody.
The incident occurred around 13:30 on the second floor of a 4-story building on Feriköy Kurtuluş Street, where, according to allegations, a dispute broke out between Burçin Şahin and her mother-in-law, Menekşe Karabacak, for reasons yet unknown.
FIRED WITH A GUN
As the argument grew and turned into a fight, Karabacak fired repeatedly at her daughter-in-law with a gun. Upon reports from neighbors, police, medical, and crime scene investigation teams were dispatched to the address.
Checks by medical teams confirmed that Şahin had lost her life. The young woman's body was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
Menekşe Karabacak was taken into custody by police teams present at the scene. The teams' investigation is ongoing.
