Movie-like chase in Manavgat: 640,000 TL fine for driver who ignored 'stop' order

Gendarmerie teams on patrol in the Manavgat district of Antalya attempted to stop a pickup truck due to suspicion. When the driver failed to comply with the 'stop' order, a short-lived chase ensued in the area.

The driver continued to flee and did not stop despite all warnings, leading to a continued pursuit. The chase ended when the vehicle was caught in a park located in the Salkımevler neighborhood.

FOUND TO BE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND DRUGS

Checks performed by the teams identified the driver as Serkan Y. Measurements revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol, and it was discovered that his license had previously been temporarily confiscated for driving under the influence.

A toxicology test conducted at the hospital determined that the driver was under the influence of narcotics.

640,000 TL FINE, PERMANENT LICENSE REVOCATION

The driver was fined 200,000 TL for driving despite his license being confiscated for alcohol, 200,000 TL for failing to comply with a 'stop' order, 150,000 TL for driving under the influence of drugs, and 50,000 TL for driving under the influence of alcohol for the second time.

Additionally, an administrative fine of 40,000 TL was imposed on the person who allowed the vehicle to be driven. Thus, the total fine reached 640,000 TL.

The driver's license was permanently revoked, and the pickup truck was banned from traffic and towed to a pound.
