Netanyahu's immoral proposal: Let us attack Gaza whenever we want

While reports indicate progress in negotiations between Hamas and Israel regarding a ceasefire and a mutual prisoner exchange in Gaza, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office has announced the conditions it demands as fundamental to any potential agreement.

As its first demand, Netanyahu announced the condition that "Israel must retain the right to resume attacks on Gaza until it achieves its goals."

Furthermore, it was stated that the smuggling of weapons from Egypt into Gaza will not be permitted, nor will the return of thousands of armed Hamas members to northern Gaza be allowed.

In a potential agreement, it was requested that the number of Israeli hostages to be released from Gaza be maximized.

The statement noted that the plan accepted by Israel and welcomed by US President Joe Biden would not "overshadow Israel's goals in the war."

Israel had previously declared its goals in its attacks on Gaza as "destroying Hamas's military capabilities and preventing Hamas from becoming the dominant power in Gaza again."

Israeli Army Spokesperson Daniel Hagari, in an interview with a television channel on June 19, stated that "it is not possible to destroy Hamas militarily, as Hamas is an idea," and expressed that "setting such a goal is meant to deceive the public."

ISRAEL INSISTS ON ATTACKING GAZA

Israel insists on continuing its attacks on Gaza following the realization of a ceasefire and mutual prisoner exchange. In contrast, Hamas is demanding guarantees from mediators that any agreement reached will lead to a permanent ceasefire.

Netanyahu is being accused by the Israeli and international public of avoiding a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas for political reasons. It is known that far-right politicians in Netanyahu's coalition have threatened to topple the government if the attacks on Gaza are halted.

Negotiations between the parties have been ongoing for a long time to stop the attacks Israel launched on the Gaza Strip on October 7. It was reported that the Hamas delegation had approved the latest ceasefire draft prepared by the mediators.

Director of the Israeli Foreign Intelligence Agency Mossad, David Barnea, traveled to Doha over the weekend to hold talks. Israeli officials had stated that "for the first time, the parties are this close to an agreement."

Israel is expected to send a delegation to Cairo this week to continue negotiations. It is also reported that US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director William Burns will participate in the talks.
