New era on flights: Free starting today
AJet and Pegasus Airlines have begun offering free water to passengers on domestic flights following instructions from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. This practice aims to protect passenger health and improve service quality.
With the new regulation, 1.5 liters of water will be loaded onto aircraft for every passenger, and this water will be served free of charge in cups by cabin crews. Passengers who wish to have bottled water may purchase this product for a fee.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that passengers remaining dehydrated due to long waits and inadequate ventilation during the summer months poses health risks. Expressing that this step was taken to prevent issues such as headaches, loss of concentration, and medical emergencies, Uraloğlu said, “Offering free drinking water will increase passenger satisfaction and contribute positively to service quality.”
This new practice aims to both protect passenger health and increase the international reputation of airline companies.
