Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has announced that public transport services will be free of charge on July 15, Democracy and National Unity Day. On July 15, it will be sufficient for Istanbul residents to use their personalized Istanbulkart to benefit from public transport vehicles for free.
The practice will be valid throughout Tuesday, July 15, and will cover IETT buses, private public buses, metrobus, metro, tram, funicular, cable car, nostalgic tram, tunnel, and City Lines ferries for 24 hours. In this way, citizens will be able to benefit from urban transport services all day without paying any fees.
