Road crisis in İzmir: 'I wasn't asked for permission,' he said, and closed it to traffic

In the Tire district of İzmir, a citizen who claimed his land was being used without permission expressed his protest by closing the road. Mehmet Güler, a resident of the Karateke neighborhood, alleged that a road was built through his field without any expropriation process being carried out, and he took the matter to official authorities.

Güler, who submitted a petition to the Tire District Governorate, blocked the road he says passes through his land by filling it with soil after his application. Güler stated that the situation had been going on for a long time and that his patience had run out.

Emphasizing that the land in question was inherited from his family, Güler said, "Tire Municipality built a road through my land without permission. I do not want this road to pass through my field. This place used to be like paradise, but now it has turned into a dump. We suffered damage due to this trash in the fire that broke out last year."

Mehmet Güler argued that he had not received any permission or expropriation notice from the municipality and that he had been victimized as a result. Güler stated that he expects the authorities to take the necessary steps as soon as possible.
