Scope of Marmaray night services expands: Additional trains will carry passengers every day of the week

A new era is beginning for Marmaray, which plays a significant role in Istanbul's urban rail transport. The additional train services, which were previously only operated on Friday and Saturday nights, will be extended to the entire week starting from May 3, 2026, facilitating night transport every day.

With this change, it is aimed to prevent delays experienced by High-Speed Train (YHT) passengers during the transfer process. Passengers departing from Ankara at 19:50 and arriving at Söğütlüçeşme at 23:58 will now be able to transfer to Marmaray without interruption.

Within the scope of this decision, which was taken by taking into account increasing passenger demands and the need for night transport, the new additional services will depart at 23:20 in the Gebze-Halkalı direction and at 23:28 in the Halkalı-Gebze direction. The application in question will offer significant convenience for Istanbul residents traveling late at night and will make urban public transport more accessible.

Officials stated that the application will be permanent and that planning will continue according to passenger needs in the coming period.
