Semi-truck overturns in Büyükçekmece, Istanbul
A semi-truck traveling on the E-5 highway in the Büyükçekmece district of Istanbul overturned after the driver lost control on a road made slippery by rain. The road, which was closed to traffic, was reopened after crews removed the vehicle. The recovery efforts were captured from the air.
The accident occurred around 10:30 AM on the E-5 highway in the direction of Kumburgaz in the Büyükçekmece district of Istanbul. According to the information obtained, the semi-truck with license plate 59 AAR 214, driven by M.E.P. (25), lost control on the road, which had become slippery due to rain. The vehicle struck the barrier and overturned onto its side. M.E.P., who sustained minor injuries, was pulled from the vehicle by other drivers in the vicinity.
Numerous emergency teams were dispatched to the scene. Due to the accident, traffic in the direction of Kumburgaz remained closed for approximately 2 hours. The road was reopened to traffic following the removal of the vehicle.

The recovery efforts were captured from the air.
Meanwhile, the moment the driver of the overturned truck was rescued by citizens nearby was captured on a mobile phone camera.
Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
