Shuttle minibus and IETT bus collide head-on in Beşiktaş

A traffic accident involving two vehicles occurred on Çırağan Street in Beşiktaş around 06:30 in the morning. According to the information obtained, the shuttle minibus with license plate 34 LEJ 531 collided head-on with the IETT bus with license plate 34 HD 2363, which was in motion, while the minibus was maneuvering to the left to enter Çırağan Palace.

Due to the impact, the drivers of both vehicles, which were not carrying any passengers, were injured. While the bus driver escaped the accident with minor scratches, the driver of the shuttle minibus was trapped inside the vehicle. Upon notification, numerous fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene.

Police teams completely closed Çırağan Street to vehicle traffic for security reasons. As a result of the efforts of the fire department teams, the driver trapped in the minibus was extracted from where he was pinned. While the bus driver received initial treatment at the scene, it was learned that the shuttle driver had a fracture in his leg and was taken to the hospital.

Due to the incident, short-term traffic congestion occurred in the area. After the injured person was transported to the hospital, traffic flow was provided from a single lane under police control. Transportation returned to normal once the damaged vehicles were removed with the help of a tow truck. An investigation into the accident has been initiated.
