Snow obstacle on the TEM highway Bolu section: 3 semi-trucks block the Ankara direction

Heavy snowfall, which intensified on the Bolu sections of the TEM Highway and the D-100 state road, caused serious disruptions in transportation. Some vehicles that entered traffic without winter tires or chains caused the roads to be blocked.

3 SEMI-TRUCKS COMPLETELY BLOCKED THE ANKARA DIRECTION

On the Ankara-bound section of the TEM Highway, near the Çaydurt location, three semi-trucks blocked all three lanes due to lack of precautions. Traffic on this section of the highway came to a complete halt, and kilometers-long vehicle queues formed in the direction of Ankara.

HIGHWAYS DIRECTORATE: INTERVENTION MADE FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION

In a statement made by the General Directorate of Highways, the following was noted:

"Transportation was temporarily interrupted on the Anatolian Highway in the direction of Ankara, approximately 1 kilometer behind the Çaydurt Highway Rest Area, at 23:15, due to 3 semi-trucks blocking all 3 lanes as a result of lack of precautions. Traffic flow on the highway has been partially restored by Highways teams intervening from the opposite direction, and efforts are continuing to return transportation to normal."

TRAFFIC CAME TO A STANDSTILL FROM TIME TO TIME

Due to the ongoing congestion and adverse weather conditions on the Bolu section, traffic flow came to a complete stop from time to time. The semi-trucks and cars stranded on the road caused difficult moments for drivers.

DISRUPTIONS ALSO EXPERIENCED ON THE D-100

On the other hand, transportation was also maintained with difficulty on the D-100 state road. A semi-truck stranded on the road was rescued from where it was stuck after being pulled by a grader belonging to the Highways teams. The teams' efforts to fully restore transportation on the TEM Highway and to rescue the vehicles stranded on the road are continuing without interruption.
