Terrifying fire in Sivas: Residents rescued one by one

A fire that broke out in a home in Sivas alarmed emergency teams. Many people trapped in the apartment building were rescued by fire crews.

According to the information obtained, the fire occurred on 38th Street in the Diriliş neighborhood. A fire broke out for an unknown reason on the 5th floor of the 10-story apartment building.

Upon notification, numerous health, fire, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. While the heavy smoke caused panic, those trapped on the upper floors were rescued by firefighters. Six people affected by smoke inhalation in the fire were taken to the hospital.

The mother whose home caught fire described those moments in tears.

Mother Serpil Yıldız stated that she heard explosion sounds coming from the bedroom, saying, “We woke up and went to the living room. We sat down, then went to the bedroom, and heard 'pop, pop' sounds. I entered the room and it was full of smoke. There was no fire. There was a charger in the room. I remember unplugging it. I grabbed the children in a panic and got out.”

Cooling efforts for the fire are ongoing.
