Terrifying plan in Bursa! He killed his nephew to meet with a prosecutor
In Bursa, 81-year-old Kerim Yakut's desire to meet with a prosecutor turned into a horrific incident. Yakut stabbed and killed his nephew, Cevdet Asa, to achieve his goal.
The incident, which took place in 2022 and whose details have only recently come to light, has caused great astonishment among the public. Kerim Yakut's obsessive desire to reach a prosecutor led to an unthinkable murder.
According to allegations, Kerim Yakut was concerned that he was being followed and wanted to report this situation to judicial authorities. However, when he could not reach the officials at the courthouse, he devised a striking plan.
On the day of the incident, Yakut found his nephew, Cevdet Asa, at the village coffeehouse. Asa was reading a newspaper when Yakut approached him with a bread knife. He suddenly pulled out the knife and wounded Asa in the chest. Cevdet Asa, who was seriously injured, lost his life at the hospital where he was taken.
Kerim Yakut, who was taken into custody after the incident, explained his motive in his testimony in court with the words, "I thought if I got into a fight with Cevdet, I would be taken to the prosecutor's office. My goal was to get to the prosecutor's office."
The aggravated life sentence given to Kerim Yakut was also upheld by the appellate court. The file was finally moved to the 1st Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation. The high court also upheld the decision, stating that the verdict was in accordance with the law. Thus, the court's ruling became final.
The unthinkable murder and the events that followed created a shock effect in Bursa and across Turkey.
