Topçular–Eskihisar ferry caught in storm: Hundreds of passengers stranded at sea for hours
The car ferry operating the Yalova–Eskihisar route was caught in a storm, drifting uncontrollably at sea with dozens of vehicles and hundreds of passengers on board.
The car ferry belonging to Negmar, which departed from the Topçular pier in Yalova at 11:20 towards Eskihisar, was caught in a storm while underway. It was reported that the ship, struggling to maneuver due to the strong winds, drifted towards Kocaeli.
Dozens of vehicles and hundreds of passengers on the ferry remained stranded in the middle of the sea for approximately two hours. It was learned that during this time, passengers had to wait without leaving their vehicles, and the ship's captain frequently made announcements urging everyone to remain calm.
