Tragic accident in Manisa: Car split in two! 5 dead, including 1 child, 6 injured

A scene of horror unfolded in Manisa near the Caferbey Junction on the Ankara-Izmir D300 Highway following a collision between two vehicles.

According to the information obtained, the car with license plate 35 BLC 88, traveling from Salihli toward Izmir, crossed into the opposite lane after the driver lost control of the steering wheel. The vehicle collided head-on with a pickup truck with license plate 45 AVV 432, driven by Mert Gülderen (41). The force of the impact caused the car to split in two.

Upon notification, health, police, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene. During the checks conducted by the teams, it was determined that Tuğçe Karakayış (35), Elif Büşra Uzunaltın (29), Abdullah Mavzer (27), Hamza Uzunaltın (32), and Kemal Uzunaltın (6) in the car had lost their lives. The bodies of the deceased were sent to the Salihli State Hospital morgue following the examinations.

In the collision, Elanur U. (4) from the car, as well as pickup driver Mert G. (41) and passengers Zeynep Burcu G. (35), Deniz G. (68), Eline G. (2), and Ertuğrul G. (1) were injured. The injured were taken to Salihli State Hospital and Private Medigüneş Hospital by medical teams. Little Elanur Uzunaltın, whose condition is critical, was transferred to Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital.

An investigation has been launched into the tragic incident.
