Tragic accident on the Northern Marmara Motorway: 3 people, including a baby, lost their lives

A traffic accident that occurred around 06:00 at the Reşadiye section of the Northern Marmara Motorway in Çekmeköy resulted in a tragedy.

According to the information obtained, the Fiat Doblo light commercial vehicle with license plate 06 CVR 047 rear-ended a truck with license plate 34 DKL 080, which was traveling in the same direction, for an unknown reason. Due to the force of the violent collision, the light commercial vehicle was rendered unusable. In the accident, 3 people, including the driver Yunus K. and one of the passengers who was a baby, lost their lives at the scene.

Following the report, gendarmerie, fire department, and medical teams were dispatched to the region. The fire department teams, who started work to reach the people trapped inside the vehicle, removed those who had lost their lives from where they were.

The bodies were sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy procedures after the investigations at the scene. While the gendarmerie teams took security measures on the motorway, an investigation into the accident has been initiated.
